Metro Manila is placed under General Community Quarantine or GCQ including Regions 2, 3, 4A, Pangasinan, Albay and Davao starting June 1st.

This means that public transportations will now be available to the general public but only  10-15% of LRT and MRT will operate while 300-500 buses will be deployed in EDSA.

According to DepEd, there will be no face-to-face sessions unless safety of the teachers and students will be assured.

Malls are instructed to accommodate 10-20% of its capacity.

Here are the highlights of President Duterte’s address to the nation last night.

Is everyone okay with this transition? Do you feel safe? Here’s what the Twitter people has to say:

    GCQ or Survivor Philippines?

Many thinks that GCQ will be the survival of the fittest. It is now the general public’s responsibility to do precautionary measures to avoid contacting the virus.

For over 73 days of putting NCR under quarantine, it’s not just the lives of many that has been greatly affected but also the economy. Businesses are forced to shut down due to bankruptcy and thousands of Filipinos have lost their jobs already. The Government is now forced to ease the quarantine so the economy can slowly recover.

But again, not everyone is in favor of this big move knowing that the country still has more than 15,000 cases of COVID-19 as of writing.

Take all the precautionary measures that you can. Avoid crowded places whenever you can, wear mask, wash your hands thoroughly and boost your immune system. “May the odds be ever in your favor.”
