• Who in the world does not enjoy road trips?!? And if that person exists maybe:

  1. He / She has not found a good company;

  2. They do not have good food and;

  3. They do not have the right playlist!

  But most probably it’s number one! We can’t deny that the best road trips are the ones we do with the best people! Yep, regardless if the food is good or not (we just really have to make sure that there’s food).

  Here are the kinds of people you’ll ride with on road trips…

  THE CAPTAIN

  Road trips won’t be possible without them. Because it’s either they own the car or they are the driver! Thank heavens for friends who are so into driving and do not get tired! And thank heavens to friends who are considerate enough to exchange places with them! Oh, we just love them so much! Come on, guys, let us give you a hug. You guys matter on every road trip! Hihihi!

  THE NAVIGATOR / THE TOUR GUIDE

  As they say, some may not be good drivers but they can be good navigators! Shout out to all our friends who know how to read compasses and maps or, because we’re in a digital world, loves Waze and Google Maps! Plus, how can you even unlove them when they can also give trivia and stories on every scenery you’ll pass by. What would road trips be without you, guys?

  THE PLAYLIST-ER

  These guys are your road trip DJs! They really know your barkada’s jam! They got them in their playlists already just in case you get very random and decide to go on a trip. He/she keeps everyone entertained throughout the road trip because all of you gets to sing with little dance moves on every song that plays. They are also responsible for changing the background music depending on the topic of your conversation. May it be about love, break-ups, dreams, family, friends, or whatever, they  got your mood!

  THE SELFIE LORD

  That one friend whose Instagram stories are already dots, whose memory card needs replacement because he/she gets 13,245,656,554 shots in one angle, and the person who is responsible for uploading your photos on social media and sending the copies in your Viber group! Yep, you always have that friend for documentation. You can’t really get it but he/she knows that it’s his/her role in every trip. Yep, all for the love of memories!

  THE SLEEP-ER

  So, you always have this friend who is tired with life, work, and everything else in between. And this friend uses your get-togethers, like road trips, for rest. Hahaha! You just can’t blame them because they are really hard workers! Hahahaha! So, yes, they sleep throughout the trip and gets up whenever chips are being opened or when you are on stopovers. Sometimes you don’t want them with you but you can’t also deny that they complete the whole trip!

  THE PHONE MASTER

  Whether it’s because of his/her lover or work, you have that friend who’s always on the phone sending text messages, emails, or resolving things because he/she is out. If it’s because of a lover, most of the time, he/she is on the edge of a breakup because the lover doesn’t like the idea friend (tsk!). Or maybe, the other half is just too clingy and needs update every breathing second. And if it’s work, your friend is very vital in his/her company. Hahaha! Sometimes you just want to book a ride for them and send them back wherever they came from. After all, you just can’t really catch up with them because they are always on their phones! Ugh! But again, road trips aren’t road trips without them!

  THE SMALL BLADDER

  And when this person is about to sip another drink, you just really want to pull it off from his/her lips because you know that after some time you’ll be stopping over a gasoline station again so that he/she can dispose whatever he/she has taken. They are the ultimate cause of delay! Your trips are getting longer because of stopovers! You’re supposed to take Baguio for four hours but because you have this friend who has a small bladder, you’re taking it for five! Ugh! Can someone stop him/her from drinking?!?

  Road trips are not road trips without food! And this person is in charge of buying all your nibblers and road trip favorites! He/she loves the grocery and the stopovers with stores! He/she got the inventory of all the food you have. Also, this person is responsible of reminding everyone when to stop for lunch or dinner on the road. Hahaha! We just love them!

  Hahaha! That one friend who has nothing to do but just ask from time to time, “Are we there yet?” He/she has no contribution to make the whole road trip fun. He/she is just there, breathing living thing, and ask every now and then if they have reached the destination. Sometimes they are really annoying but what are road trips with these peeps, right?

  That one friend who contributes to every expense you have throughout the trip! From gas, to tolls, and food, they always have a cash to give! And sometimes they also give a treat. Shout out to our RK (rich kid) friends, thank you for your generosity, you save our trips!

  The Tito Boy / Kris Aquino of the group! They are the conversation moderators. His/her backpack is like Dora’s. The only difference is that Dora brings different things, your friend got a lot of chikkas on hand. Hahaha!

  Better tag the people who popped in your head and remind them that it’s time for another road trip!
