Boracay among the world’s greatest places of 2022 – Time Magazine

Boracay, one of the most beautiful places in the world and famous for its world-class white sand, was named one of the greatest places in 2022 according to Time Magazine.
The Time Magazine’s article described Boracay as a “paradise reborn” since the government closed the island to the public during the pandemic to rehabilitate the area.
In addition to that, Time Magazine stated that, “The once brilliant white sand and clear waters of Boracay Island were choking on the trash and traffic that comes from 2 million annual visitors. It reached a nadir in 2018, when Duterte closed down all tourism on the island for six months—an emergency Band-Aid for decades of ecological abuse.”
The island has been experiencing environmental issues over its decades of operation. Since the rehabilitation, Boracay has been restored to its original and pristine condition.
