Boracay, El Nido make it to Top 25 best beaches in Asia, world

    The Boracay white beach and El Nido island beaches have been listed in the Top 25 Best Beaches in Asia and in the whole world.

    The first recognition was made in 2020 where Condé Nast Traveler named the two Philippine locations on their 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards on the Best Islands in the World.

    On their site, it was said that Condé Nast Traveler readers ranked the 35 best islands in the world outside the U.S. in the 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards survey, from far-flung stunners in Southeast Asia to volcanic outcrops in the Mediterranean. On their 33rd annual survey, over 600,000 registered voters have weighed in.

    Last year’s vote was divided into the world regions namely Asia, Australia and the South Pacific, Caribbean and the Atlantic, Europe, North America.

    According to Department of Tourism (DOT), Boracay landed on the second place while Palawan landed on the ninth.

    The most recent recognition was made by Trip Advisor. It listed the Top 25 beaches in Asia. Factors are White sands, rugged coastlines, and the works.

    Boracay Island is on the 12th spot. It was described as “calm, warm waters, gently sloping sand. Very relaxing. Possibly the most beautiful beach in Asia.”

    Nacpan Beach in El Nido town in Palawan is on the 18th spot. It was described as “a long coastline, golden sand, beautiful crystal waters and a completely virgin landscape make a visit to this place unforgettable!”

    DOT secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat has extended her gratitude on the numerous recognitions.

    Boracay in Aklan province and El Nido in the province of Palawan are under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) until the end of the month. both location are also open to local tourists even to those coming form areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
