MMDA lifts number coding for Holy Week

The number coding traffic scheme will be suspended this Holy Week weekend, the Metro Manila Development Authority announced last week.
The number coding traffic scheme also known as the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program will be lifted from April 6, Maundy Thursday to April 10, which President Marcos declared as a holiday in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan, which is traditionally observed on April 9 this year, the holiday falls on a Sunday.
Currently the number coding is strictly monitored on major roads every weekdays from 7:00AM – 10:00 AM and continues from 5:00PM – 8:00PM.
During weekends, the scheme is not implemented.
