My Unsent Letter: Your Stopover, My Favorite Destination

• This exact day marks the first time we’ve met, the day we said our first “Hi” and “Hello” to each other. The day we started to make our first impressions.

  We didn’t had a hard time to get along because we share the same passion, which is to travel. Our travel stories and experiences connected us together. It became the foundation of our friendship.

  We went to different places like there’s no tomorrow. We became impulsive on traveling and as our world becomes smaller, the more I want to be a part of your ‘world’.

  One day during our cold trip in Baguio, I had this feeling that it’s the right time to admit my feelings towards you. I told you what I feel but you did not said anything. I felt the smite of the cold breeze and it turned my heart into dusts quickly fading in the night sky.

  The next day you started to become cold.

  Colder than the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

  When we got back in Manila. You told me that there are things you need to attend to and you didn’t even bother to say goodbye.

  There I lost hope. Everything I dreamed of when we were together got blurry, really blurry.

  Days, weeks, months I got back on my feet and overcame the heartbreak. I went back to my passion and traveled to faraway places.

  Fate really loves to play with us, We are both in Sagada but the difference is, you’re with another guy. I saw you but you never saw me. I didn’t showed myself to you because I don’t want you to see me hurting and dying inside.

  Too bad I was just your stopover and you were my favorite destination.
