New Year, new you but it also means that new year means new gala for the family and barkada. As early as now we are pretty sure that you have already have an idea where to spend your long weekends. But before booking your domestic flights it might be better for you to check your possible destinations before booking just to save you from disappointments and some detours.
Just recently, Boracay has been under rehabilitation and as the government has mentioned, Boracay is just the beginning meaning there are other tourist spots that are up on the list. And starting this coming January 10 to February 10, the popular Sugba Lagoon in Siargao will be closed to public in preparation for the summer season.
According to Spot.ph, even before Boracay began its six-month closure, the local government of Surigao del Norte already knew how to maintain its tourist destinations. Sugba Lagoon is in the municipality of Del Carmen and is known for its calm waters surrounded by limestone cliffs. This place is ideal for kayaking, standup paddleboarding and snorkeling. This lagoon is also perfect for thrill-seekers since they have an option of jumping off a three-meter-high diving board.
The closure from January 10 to February 10 is not the first time for this lagoon since it has already been closed last 2018 from February 5 to March 5. Its sewage system was upgraded to accommodate the growing number of tourists.
