My name is Rose, 25 from Cavite. I am working in a BPO country for almost a year now. Being a customer service representative is very hard especially I am working on a graveyard shift. Working for 9 hours from 2am until 11 in the morning, the bad calls and the grumpy supervisors/team leaders are what makes my work life so stressful right now.

Fortunately, my friend asked me to go with her on a weekend vacation in Nuvali at Sta. Rosa, Calamba, Laguna. It is a master-planned residential, commercial and recreational development complex that has something for everyone.

On our first day, we did leisure biking at Nuvali’s paved roads that looks really safe. We also went biking in Nuvali’s off road trails. The place has a wide bike tracks and trails systems that includes approximately 50 kilometers. We definitely enjoyed our scenic cross-country riding with fresh air and great views of Laguna de Bay, Mount Makiling and the Tagaytay Ridge.

Afternoon came and we went wakeboarding. Nuvali has a world-class 4-hectares water sports facility inside the complex called Republic Wakepark. It is the latest and most ground-breaking wake boarding facility in the world.

After our water-fun session, we got hungry so we decided to go to Solenad. Solenad is a place where there are plenty of popular cafes and restaurants to choose from. Some of them are Max’s, Chubby’s Rib Shack, Crisostomo, Brother’s Burger, Starbucks, Bo’s Coffee, Krispy Creme, Conti’s and many more.

Before the sun went down, we went to the Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary. It is a 17 kilometers forest zone that offers a home for 60 different species of birds. The place is very relaxing because of the sweet tune of the birds singing.

The night came quickly and we went to their Night Sky Cinema which is equipped with a large screen and excellent sound system in the fields. We heard that the outdoor cinema happens very occasional so we felt lucky we get to experience one! We brought our own mats to lie on and snacks to eat. The movie we’ve watched was ‘A Walk to Remember’. Though I’ve seen it already, it feels different and very romantic when watching it under the stars.

Yes, there will be times that reality would hit you hard in the face but who said we can’t escape from it for a while? A big thanks to Nuvali for giving me a well earned escape from my tiring and exhausting job.
