Coffee Break – Episode 67: Resignation in times of the pandemic

August 30, 2021

  • Contemplating to quit your job? With today’s uncertainty, there are many factors that you should weigh in before deciding. So, what are these things that you need to consider?

In this episode of Coffee Break, DJs Nick and Shai talked about one of today’s most relevant topic: Resignation in times of the pandemic. To start off their conversation, Shai shared that the number one reason why people resign is they are not well compensated considering the efforts that they are giving that’s why they leave and look for another. “If it does not work out with you, kaya mo ba? I love the idea of chasing your dreams, but if its not practical, I would highly discourage it,” DJ Shai said. Meanwhile, Nick said “If you’re not learning anymore, if you’re not in the right track you have to go. But make sure you can survive in the next months.” For them, before you resign your current job, you must have at least 3 to 4 months worth of salary. To end their conversation, Shai and Nick shared a tip for those who are looking for jobs in the midst of the pandemic. For Shai, if you are having a hard time looking for a job that fits your skills, try to go lower if you have. It may blow your ego and be painful for your pride but do it for making sure that you could feed your family. For the Radio Bae, make sure you know your market because technically you are selling yourself. If you have ample time, try to learn new things that may improve your set of skills.
