• Familiar of the hit series ‘Squid Game,’ where hundreds of players risk their lives just to win the prize money? How do you relate this with your career? How far can you go in the name of career success?

  In this episode of Coffee Break, DJs Nick and Shai talked about how the hit TV series Squid Game becomes relatable when it comes to our careers. To start off their conversation, they both defined what success means to them. For Shai, success is being able to reach a point where she no longer crave for more. While for Nick, success is basically being content with what you do. Where you are really being happy where you at and motivated to do things without complaining.

  Shai was asked if what are the things she can sacrifice for the sake of her career. “I’m in the position to sacrifice time, and building a family.” Shai also shared that she will not go the extremes of sabotaging other people just for her success. “I think it’s not worth it for me to literally step on people.”

  Nick thinks that the reason why people can relate well to the series ‘Squid Game’ because somehow it is a metaphor of life. It’s difficult for us to succeed without other people or without pulling other people down.

  To cap off their conversation, Shai and Nick gave their parting words about the topic. For Shai, “manage your expectations on what you want to achieve,” While Nick said that the ‘stage’ is enough for everyone. “The spotlight can be limited but it doesn’t mean it is not movable. I am a fan of taking calculated risks.”
