  • Romance at work is not necessarily a bad thing as no one can prevent people from falling in love. However, if things did not work well between the colleague turned lovers, this may result trouble in the office. Should office romance be prohibited or allowed in the workplace?

In this episode of Coffee Break, DJs Chloe, Nick, and Shai talked about love in the workplace. To start off their conversation, Nick asked Chloe and Shai if they were ever in a relationship with a co-worker? Chloe said that she was never been in that situation. She admitted that there was a chance in her previous work but she did not allowed it to happen. “In all honesty, it’s not my cup of tea,” Shai said. She has a general rule not to mix pleasure with work.

For Nick, professionalism has a thin line when in a relationship with your colleague. According to Chloe while some companies are not that strict when it comes to office romance, but there are companies also that does not allow that where one has to go. When that time comes, Shai said that will ever happen to her, she will not quit her job. If someone has to leave that’s not going to be her.
The three jocks also touched the cons of having an office romance. Chloe said that when things go south, the former couple gets to see or work each other whether they like or it not and it may not be great on the other employees’ morale.

To cap off their conversation, Shai said: “The heart wants what it wants, just be smart about it. Just remember that you are there in the office to work.” While for Nick, there’s nothing wrong about it. “Go lang,” he said. “We just have to be responsible with our decisions,” he added.
