Coffee Break Plugged In – Episode 48: Celebrating Women feat. Sponge Cola

• One of the country’s top OPM bands who is known for the songs “Gemini,” “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay,” and many more, Sponge Cola guested on Coffee Break Plugged In.

  In celebration of Women’s Month, DJs Nick and Shai along with Yael, Armo, Gosh, and Ted of Sponge Cola talked about womanhood. The members of the band shared their perspectives on how do they see women today. Armo and Yael also emphasized how woman should be seen or treated equal as men.

  Aside from the fun and insightful conversation, Sponge Cola performed their latest song “Siguro Nga.” The song is born out of vocalist and guitarist Yael Yuzon’s love for the K-Drama entitled “Start Up.” “Immediately after the shock of episode 9, I literally picked up a guitar and began writing the song,” Yuzon said. “I didn’t know how the story was going to unfold, but at that point, I felt like it wasn’t going to work out for Han Ji Pyeong’s character. And while heartbreak wouldn’t ravage him, it leaves him with an undulating kind of pain.”
