• Rachel Alejandro, a known actress and singer is the daughter of ‘70s OPM icon Hajji Alejandro. She started her career at the age of 12 and eventually joined “That’s Entertainment” and few years later, she released her first album which composed of songs such as as “Mr. Kupido,” “K.S.P. (Kulang Sa Pansin),” and “Kay Tagal.” Rachel has been in the industry for quite some time now. How does she stay relevant in today’s industry?

  In this episode of Coffee Break Plugged In, DJ Nick with his special guest, actress and singer Rachel Alejandro talked about staying relevant in the music industry. Rachel shared that before the pandemic, she was in the upswing of her career. The movie that she starred in was supposed to be released theatrically worldwide but was cancelled due to the closure of the cinemas. The singer shared some of the things she learned to prolong her career. She said that if you want to be hired (for projects), you have to become someone who is fun to work with. “Don’t lose sight of the fact that at the end of the day, people have to like you.” In the end, Rachel said to those aspiring people who want to get in show business to learn to balance a little bit of everything and don’t be so hard on yourself.

  Aside from their conversation, Rachel performed her latest song entitled “Takipsilim.” “Takipsilim represents what we are right now,” Rachel said. “It is a song about hope. Many were displaced and now we are hanging on the last bits of hope,” she added. The song is also about heartbreaks where they are trying to find how they can bring back their relationship. The singer shared that “Takipsilim” was written by 19-year-old named Rain Santana.
