Griff shares to DJ Shai how she came up with her name

• In this exclusive interview, DJ Shai talks with Griff on the new single “One Foot in Front of the Other.”

  The motivational song talks about dealing with setbacks and heartbreaks as one grows older. “It’s so much harder to heal from that and you almost feel like a child learning to walk again,” says the singer. “You’re probably gonna fall and learn how to do it; you’re a bit out of practice, and you’re rusty – but you just got to keep doing it.”

  DJ Shai discusses Griff’s career, family as a support system, stage name, and releasing music in the pandemic – “It definitely made things tricky, but I think I just had to adapt and keep going.” Griff also shares plans on touring the Philippines once everything is back to normal.

  2021 Brit Awards ‘Rising Star’ Griff is a child prodigy in producing music; she started with a programming software her father bought. She also got signed to a record label at a very young age; she is currently under Warner Brothers. She is also known for her other songs “Mirror Talk” and “Shade of Yellow.”

  “One Foot in front of the Other” is the song performed in the 2021 Brit Awards by the singer. The release was out on June 18, 2021, by label Warner Records and is available for purchase and download on all streaming platforms.
